Water & Sewer
Meter Reading
Water meters are read electronically each month by the Town of Didsbury. If you receive a blue tag on your door, it could indicate that a read was not able to be obtained or that a repair must be completed. Should this happen, please contact the Town Office at 403.335.3391 ext. 1106.

We encourage residents to review their bill regularly and should you feel there is a significant discrepancy, please contact our Utilities Department at 403.335.3391 ext. 1106 or by email at utilitiesdept@didsbury.ca.

Rates
Please refer to the Town of Didsbury Rate & Fee Bylaw for the most current Utility rates. Sewer charges are based on the water consumption.

Notice to Landlords and Residents
If you have set up a different Utility Account or have moved to another property in Didsbury, you now have a New Utility Account Number.

When paying your bill online, you must change the account number so your payment goes to your new account. Your bank can assist you in changing this number if needed.

You will find your new account number on the top left side of the bill or on the bottom middle part of the bill. If you do not change the account number, the payment will be applied to the old account.

If you are a renter - You are no longer the billing customer. In Didsbury the property owner is now the billing customer and is responsible to ensure the utility bills are paid. The property owner will decide whether or not they want you, the renter, to receive a copy of the bill. Upon direction by the owner, a copy will be provided to you.

If you are buying a property - All you need to do is fill out the Utility Application form at the Town of Didsbury office, 1606 - 14 Avenue, providing your possession date and billing information.

If you have any questions please call the Town Office at 403.335.3391

What is truly flushable?........

It isn’t cotton swabs, dental floss or feminine hygiene products………. and it is definitely not baby wipes. It doesn’t matter if the package is marked as "flushable”, baby wipes do not actually breakdown in the sewage system. Moreover, wipes compound problems already caused by non-desirables such as fats, oils, greases, and dental floss, which grab onto the wipes and snowball into huge blockages. These products collect in our cells and plug up the Town’s infrastructure costing a great deal of money in maintenance and repairs.

Please do your part and help maintain the Town of Didsbury’s infrastructure
by following these guidelines and only flush:

  • Human waste
  • Toilet paper
  • Biodegradable materials

Please do not flush the following:

  • Facial Tissue
  • Baby wipes, disinfectant wipes, moist wipes, etc.
  • Toilet bowl scrub pads
  • Swiffer pads
  • Napkins (paper or cloth), paper towels
  • Dental floss
  • Eggshells, nutshells, and coffee grounds
  • Fats, oils, and greases
  • Hair
  • Sanitary napkins, tampons, condoms, or any other non-organic material
  • Vitamins, medicines or other pharmaceuticals
  • Sheet plastic, or plastic of any kind
  • Diapers (cloth, disposable, "flushable”)
