Due to a small isolated fire in one of the mechanical rooms at the Didsbury Aquatic Centre, the pool is closed temporarily. We expected to re-open later this afternoon, and will update you here and on the Town of Didsbury social media channels.
The fire was associated with some HVAC work being completed on site. No one was injured and the public was not in danger. Thank you to staff for your calm and expert approach in addressing the situation, and to all the swimmers for your cooperation and understanding.
The Didsbury Aquatic Centre at the Didsbury Memorial Complex is located at 1702 21 Avenue in Didsbury, Alberta. It is home to a 25 metre five-lane swimming pool, a 150 metre water slide, a hot tub, and a steam room.
The facility offers regular programming including public, family, parent & tot, and adult swim times, as well as Aquafit classes, swimming lessons, courses, and pool rentals.
